Programming for Absolute Beginners

Details
NOTE: This course is part of a much longer curriculum offered in partnership with Fullstack Academy, Ticket into Tech, and the Cal Poly Extension program. The full curriculum will train students to be professional-level software developers using web technologies including HTML and JavaScript. This course is for those brand-new to programming and does NOT require a commitment to the full program.
Are you interested in a career in software but you don't have a background in code or computer science? This course is for you! Over four evenings you will learn from professional software developers in a class that covers the foundational skills of software development, including using your computers command line and file system, how to translate real-world problems into code, and some of the basic syntax of the JavaScript programming language. You'll also learn how to set up a professional quality development environment on either a Mac or Windows-based PC.
If you DO have a background in programming this course may be too basic for you. If you are comfortable using a CLI and creating, moving, and deleting files on your computer and you're written a few functions in any programming language you should consider going directly to our six-week intro-to-code course, which covers HTML, CSS, and JavaScript up to an intermediate level. Please see the link below for more information on that course.
This class will be held on four consecutive evenings from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm beginning on Monday, January 28th.
(If you're reading this parenthetical, we don't have the link ready yet. Check back later today!)
