Fun Friday: THE ROSES at the Drexel Theatre!

Join us as we get together for the dark-comedy-drama, THE ROSES! Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman star in this film about a couple whose marriage goes completely off-the-rails! Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:

DESCRIPTION: Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy and Theo: successful careers, great kids, an enviable sex life. But underneath the façade of the perfect family is a tinderbox of competition and resentments that's ignited when Theo's professional dreams come crashing down. The film is directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers series, Meet the Parents, Bombshell) and written by Tony McNamara (Cruella, The Favourite, Poor Things). It is based on the 1981 novel The War of the Roses by Warren Adler (and looks like it should be a much funnier version of the 1989 film). The Roses stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman, Andy Samberg, Allison Janney and Kate McKinnon.

PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing and will meet inside the lobby area about 20 minutes before showtime! We’ll also plan for a long-overdue post-show get-together at the nearby Rusty Bucket, where everyone knows our names (and orders/drink orders)! Exact showtime and other details will be confirmed/announced by Wednesday before the event (when the theater announces them). No advance ticket purchase is necessary for this theater but when you purchase your ticket on the day of the event, be sure to mention you’re with the Movie Group for discounted admission.
