DESCRIPTION: The film follows Ann Lee, the founding leader of the Shakers religious sect in the 18th century. Based on true events, it depicts her establishment of a utopian society and the Shakers' worship through song and dance. The film is directed by Mona Fastvold, who co-wrote the script with Brady Corbet (The Brutalist), and stars Amanda Seyfried, Thomasin McKenzie, Lewis Pullman, Tim Blake Nelson, Christopher Abbott, Stacy Martin, Matthew Beard and David Cale.

BUZZ: Reviews have been solid but Amanda Seyfried’s performance has been universally praised.
