What we're about

This group is a place where functional programmers of all experience levels can hone their skills through practice and learn from one another.
Our meetings are collaborative; they involve a mixture of talks, workshops and Katas. Katas are programming exercises that members are encouraged to work on together with solutions in different functional programming languages being demonstrated at the end of the evening.
The Katas are not supposed to be intimidating or elitist in any way. They are about having fun and learning and they are totally optional - it’s fine to come along to the group and sit in with others while they go through the problems and then check out the solutions at the end. We think this is a great approach for us all to learn together and to get exposure to various functional programming languages and different ways of thinking.

So, please come along whatever your experience is with functional programming - even if you just want to try out a different way of solving problems!
