Colored Pencils, Pastels and More

No drawing experience is needed. You can start with the basics or improve your skills and learn new techniques.
For beginners, Michele will take you step by step through a project to learn the basics and develop your skills.

Open Studio BYO project and explore colored pencils, soft and oil pastels, markers and more. In this self-paced class students are encouraged to bring your own project and supplies. This class is great way to learn how to create realistic artwork while progressing at your own pace. Michele will provide individualized assistance and give feedback on your work. * Must take beginner class first.

Recommended Supply Lists:

Colored Pencils:

• Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils (Other budget brands such as Crayola will work but will not produce the same results.)
• Strathmore Bristol Vellum paper
• Pencil Sharpener
• Tombow Mono Eraser
• Colorless Blender Pencil
• Odorless Mineral Spirits (Gamsol or Mona Lisa brand)
• Eyeliner brush, small filbert brush or Q-tips for blending
• Regular graphite pencil
• Posca Paint Pen, white 7 mm

Oil Pastels:

• Mungyo Gallery Oil Pastels, Paul Rubens, Cray Pas (Other budget brands will work but will not produce the same results.)
• Mixed Media paper/Textured drawing paper
• Tortillion/Paper blending stump and/or Q tips for blending
• Odorless Mineral Spirits (Gamsol or Mona Lisa brand)

Soft Pastels:

• Mungyo Soft Pastels or artist grade such as Rembrandt, NuPastels (Other budget brands will work but will not produce the same results.)
• Canson MiTeintes Paper, Canson XL Sand grain paper, Mixed Media paper
• Tortillion/Blending stump, and/or Q tips for blending
• Baby wipes/Paper towels
• Hair Spray (Aqua Net) or Artist quality fixative such as Spectrafix

Class is limited to 12 students. Minimum of 3 participants to hold class.
