What we’re about

Crystal Springs Sangha meets weekly to encourage individual spiritual practice. Our practice emphasizes zazen as a way to bring compassion and insight into daily life, moment after moment.

We are a small sitting group that meets on Thursday evenings on Zoom since the pandemic began. On average we enjoy the company of 8 to 10 fellow meditators. The Meetup pages often say that only 1 or 3 people are planning to attend because only a few of us are registered members of Meetup. Our average group size of 8 to 10 is very supportive of the meditation practice and makes for lively dharma discussions after our sitting.

We have been welcoming new people to practice for twenty years. We are affiliated with San Francisco Zen Center through the Suzuki Roshi lineage. We offer "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" through our community, zazen, formal (and informal) practice discussion, talks, and enrichment through the wider Zen community. Our group is a diverse interpretation of Buddhism. We welcome beginners and all who are curious about sitting for living.
