What we're about

This group is dedicated to providing a creative atmosphere for weekly D&D games in SF and Oakland. Our goal is to provide a solid foundation for D&D fans to set up and attend games, manage their own campaigns and help grow the community.

If you're looking to get back into D&D or want to check it out, feel free to create a character and RSVP to one of the sessions. Currently we are running 3.5, 4e and 5e.

If you are a DM looking to start a group or if you have a group that needs players, feel free to join and contact the organizer. We'll set you up with the permissions to create your own events. We encourage you to organize your games however you see fit.

In the event anyone has a complaint about anything at all to do with the group, including participant or event host behavior, please feel free to contact the Organizer (DocWilco) or Co-Organizer (Mike Plautz) with your concerns right away.

Ghost of Saltmarsh! - Dungeons and Dragons (5e)

The White Horse

"It's time for high adventure You're off and riding, saber flashing Your banner high" Brandon O'Neil Come venture forth and join a group of heroes at The White Horse Tavern this Monday night! (Note: This is an ongoing group that does various D&D adventures following official rules. The RSVP list will be adjusted to prefer consistent players, but new players are welcome as space allows.) Please message the event host through meetup if you have any questions. Anyone on the waitlist is welcome to attend and observe, or possibly play if someone who has signed up doesn't show. The priority is given to consistent previous attendees, followed by new players on a first-come, first served basis. Anyone who signs up but does not show up without messaging the host, or leaving a comment (before, during, or shortly after the meetup) may be bumped to the waitlist to make room for others. Please send any questions to the event host. The game will be Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. We will be using the full rules set. (In my day we just slapped the prefix Advanced on the name and didn't bother to explain ourselves.) Those new to the game can download the Basic rules for free. This will give one enough information to get started and join the table. https://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/basicrules All characters must be adventurers League legal. Aquatic or amphibious races, maritime background, and a backstory are encouraged but not required. AL resources are available on the following page. https://dnd.wizards.com/articles/events/adventurers-league-resources Note, this version of GreyHawk doesn't have the AL factions. The two factions in Saltmarsh are the Traditionalists and Loyalists. The Loyalists pledge fealty to the crown of Keoland. The Traditionalists resent those land-loving, do-gooders meddling in town affairs. "ADVENTURE ON THE HIGH SEAS Explore the waves above and the fathoms below in these watery adventures for the world’s greatest roleplaying game. Nestled on the coast of the Azure Sea is Saltmarsh, a sleepy fishing village that sits on the precipice of destruction. Smugglers guide their ships to hidden coves, willing to slit the throat of anyone foolhardy enough to cross their path. Cruel sahuagin gather beneath the waves, plotting to sweep away coastal cities. Drowned sailors stir to unnatural life, animated by dark magic and sent forth in search of revenge. The cult of a forbidden god extends its reach outward from a decaying port, hungry for fresh victims and willing recruits. While Saltmarsh slumbers, the evils that seek to plunder it grow stronger. Heroes must arise to keep the waves safe!" Wizards of the Coast

Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage - Game Session #32

Outer Richmond District

“Looking for adventure, are ye? Looking for a place brimming with silver and gold, a place dripping with things magical? I know a place far and not far from here where all of that - and more - can be had. But mind me lads, there are other things there as well-danger and risk and uncertainty, and creatures never before seen by the likes of sellswords and wizards who tread upon the sunlit lands of the Realms. This place is called Undermountain. And it is far beneath the crust of this world, yet right under fair Waterdeep. It is a dangerous labyrinth nestled deep in the bowels of the earth. It is a dungeon, I, Elminster of Shadowdale, know well. I shall tell you of these twisting corridors, and of the man who made them his. Listen ye carefully-especially if ye are intent on delving into its depths. Perhaps what I tell you could save your life. Perhaps.” Skullport, the Port of Shadow, is perhaps the best kept secret in all the Sword Coast North. A mile and a half beneath the orderly streets of Waterdeep squats the most wretched and lawless pit of thieves, buccaneers, and sellswords the Realms has to offer. Under a moldering tangle of catwalks threaded between stalactites and stalagmites of the cavern city, mind flayers, drow, beholders, and others plot and trade with emissaries from the surface. Monsters prowl the dark recesses and alleyways, gangs of zombies shamble about performing menial labor, and anything and everything can be bought and sold: lethal poisons, foul tomes of forbidden magic, and much more. The only law is meted out by the enigmatic Skulls of Skullport, mysterious floating skulls whose capricious judgements and madness-induced destructiveness are the stuff of grisly travelers’ tales. Gold rules the ever-present twilight, and only those with keen eyes and blades may keep it long. Waterdeep: Dungeon of the Mad Mage is a Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition mega-dungeon adventure that picks up where Waterdeep: Dragon Heist leaves off, designed for player character levels 5-20, now held weekly as a short-term campaign in the Outer Richmond District of San Francisco. This meetup is currently full and we are not accepting additional players at this time.
