As a Strong Towns Local Conversation (STLC), we are part of the Strong Towns movement to replace America’s postwar pattern of development, the "Suburban Experiment," with a pattern of development that is financially strong and resilient. We advocate for neighborhoods of all sizes in Dallas to be safe, livable and inviting.

THIS MONTH'S THEME: MULTI-MODAL MAY
What do walking, cycling, buses, trains, Bird scooters, and dragon boats have in common? "Multi-modal" transportation means combining different ways of getting around in a single trip. For example, you might ride your bike to the train station, take a scooter to catch a bus, or drive to a park-and-ride lot before hopping on the rail.Do you use a multi-modal commute for work? Or have a memorable multi-modal trip you'd like to share? We’d love to hear about it! We’ll feature some of the most interesting stories in a slideshow at our event—if you have a story you want to share, write it in your RSVP for a chance to be included! (This is optional; you can RSVP and leave that question blank)
At this month's program, we'll hear from various urbanist groups about:
- How to stop HB3187, the bill that would slash DART's budget upwards of 44%.
- How to support parking reform proposal that would eliminate parking minimums within a quarter-mile of rail stations in Dallas.
- Retrospective on recent city council election & candidates to consider supporting in runoff election.
