- Tour of Historic Buckman Tavern and Lunch at Royal India BistroBuckman Tavern, Lexington, MA
1. Tour of Buckman Tavern
Join us for a tour of historic Buckman Tavern on Lexington Green. The tour is an audio tour. Built in 1710, Buckman Tavern was a gathering place for both locals and travelers, and the site of many important town meetings. Captain Parker and his militia gathered in this tavern in the early morning hours of April 19, 1775, to await the oncoming British Redcoat troops before the Battle of Lexington.Tickets are $14.00
2. Lunch at Royal India Bistro
Afterward, we'll have lunch across the street at Royal India Bistro. I have not made a reservation (due to the uncertainty of our arrival time). If they can't accommodate us, there are plenty of other restaurants nearby.3. Parking
There are several paid parking lots in downtown Lexington. There is also metered street parking. For more information on parking in downtown Lexington, including locations and prices, click here. The Depot Lot is located across the street from both Buckman Tavern and the restaurant. - Salem Arts Festival20 Hawthorne Blvd, Salem, MA
Let's check out the Salem Arts Festival
1. We will meet at 11:00 AM in front of the Nathaniel Hawthorne Statue across the street from Artemesia Botanicals. The address is 20 Hawthorne Blvd.
2. From there we'll explore the booths of local artists, performances, murals made as part of the event, and the pop-up art installations.
3. Afterward, if people would like to, we can get lunch. I have not made a reservation anywhere (due to the uncertainty of an arrival time), but there are many options for restaurants as well as take-out places.
4. Parking
- Be aware that parking may be difficult due to the number of people attending the festival. Consider taking public transportation, such as the commuter rail.
- There are metered spots and paid parking lots located throughout Salem. You can find more information about parking and an interactive parking map by clicking here.
- Consider parking at the Salem Station Parking Garage or the Waterfront Garage, as, I'm guessing, there will be less people parking at those locations. Although I can't guarantee that.
