Protest FOSTA/SESTA / Picket Clusterfest & Anti-Sex Work Comic Amy Schumer!

Come out on International Whores Day (June 2) with other sex work rights advocates to protest a terrible piece of legislation.

SESTA-FOSTA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_Enabling_Sex_Traffickers_Act) increases the criminalization and marginalization of our community, as well as threatens overall Internet freedom, by restricting our ability to talk about our work online. The legislation is opposed by EFF, the ACLU, various LGBT organizations, and many others. As a result of its passage, Craigslist shut down its entire personals section.

We've chosen Clusterfest at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium as the spot of our protest because Amy Schumer, a vocal proponent of this harmful legislation who has also joked about dead strippers, will be appearing at the event.

By the way, there is also a petition to the White House to repeal SESTA-FOSTA that you can sign at https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/repeal-sesta-and-fosta . If it gets around 87,000 signatures in the next 7 days, the White House is pledged to respond. I personally refrained from signing White House petitions for a while out of concern for giving them my information, but did just bite the bullet to sign this one. If you share this concern, you can always use a different name and create a disposable email address to give yourself some degree of privacy protection.
