About us

Offering regular studio and location photography shootouts, workshops, and portfolio intensives, generally focused on people photography. Studio lighting, mixed lighting, natural lighting, lifestyle, portrait, fashion, and beauty photography.

Most workshops begin at Denver's premier studio photospace, and some continue on to secondary locations. The highest-end professional photography equipment is available to all participants during these workshops, including Profoto and Bron strobe lighting, Chimera modifiers, Arri, Fiilex, Nanlux and KinoFLo continuous lighting, as well as a wide variety of grip equipment and natural-light modifiers from Westcott and Sunbounce.

Models, along with professional hair and makeup styling, are always provided on each workshop, as are coffee and snacks.

    ## Aperture Experiences: Shootouts

These are open shoot environments designed for access, repetition, and creative freedom.
This is not a traditional workshop. There is no long classroom instruction, no formal lecture, and no rigid curriculum. Instead, you get six hours inside a professionally produced shooting environment with multiple models, professionally lit sets, styled backdrops, and the freedom to rotate, experiment, practice, and build volume.
If you want more time behind the camera, more variety in your portfolio, and more chances to refine your eye, Aperture Sessions are built for you.

    ## Shootout Overview

Throughout the shootout, you will rotate through multiple shooting setups featuring professional models, curated backdrops, and lighting environments prepared by the Aperture Experiences team.
Each setup is designed to be approachable, productive, and visually strong, so you can focus on making images instead of building the entire production from scratch.

This is ideal for photographers who want to:

    • Build portfolio volume
    • Experiment with posing, framing, and lighting styles
    • Practice working with professional models
    • Create fresh content for websites, social media, and marketing
    • Try new creative ideas in a low-pressure environment
    • Spend more time shooting and less time planning

    ## What’s Included

    • 6-hour open shooting environment
    • Access to multiple models
    • Professionally lit sets and backdrops
    • Rotation through all setups
    • Creative freedom to experiment
    • A production-style environment without the production burden

    ## How It Works

    Arrive ready to shoot.
We will give a short orientation at the beginning of the session, walk everyone through the available sets, explain the rotation flow, and review basic model and photographer etiquette.
After that, the session opens up for shooting. You will move through each setup, work with different models, try different angles, capture multiple looks, and use the day to build as much quality work as possible.
Aperture Experiences staff will be present to keep the day organized, help maintain flow, and make sure photographers have access to each environment.

    ## Why Attend

Aperture Experiences Shootouts give you the kind of shooting access that is hard to create on your own.
You do not have to book models, rent a studio, design sets, light backdrops, coordinate schedules, or build a full production. You simply show up with your camera and create.
It is the perfect format for photographers who want repetition, variety, and creative freedom inside a professionally prepared environment.
