Talk Description
JS's event loop and the general architecture of JS makes for rapid development and handles concurrency well, but sometimes we need to get under the bonnet. This talk explores the uses of WASM in areas outside of purely web development and some real-life use cases where emscripten can make our lives easier.

Speaker Bio
Nik started his career in Tokyo working for a small fintech company building scalable, reliable real time stock feed systems and interactive graphical tools on Android. He then moved on to the video game industry where he leveraged his experience in high performance systems to build multiple games for the asian market. His latest venture was building out several SaaS applications, including a national tele-health platform. Through his career, he has worked in several languages such as C++, C#, JS/TS, Python and some proprietary languages. Beyond programming, he is an avid outdoors-man with a passion for back-country snow sports and mountain biking.
