Doors Open is a once-per-year four day architectural event with tours of many Denver landmarks. For this meetup, let's go check out Union Station with a historian guide. The tour is at 10:30 on 9/27. The tour is $30. We have no idea how quickly the tour will fill up, so you might want to buy your ticket early.
The site doesn't say specifically where the tour starts, but I'd hope it would be obvious. Maybe there is a visitor info booth in the station?
