ASP.NET 5: Bringing MVC, Web API, and Web Pages Together

with Dave Rael, Educator and Software Solutions Provider

The independent evolution of MVC and Web API led to a lot of duplication of functionality and a lack of cohesion and reusability among the pieces of the ASP.NET tech stack, requiring a lot of duplication of code and effort.
This has been resolved in ASP.NET 5, where the new ASP.NET MVC is a sum of three parts: MVC, Web API, and Web Pages. Unifying and optimizing both the runtime operation and the developer experience of these three parts has largely been the focus of the "vNext" movement.
Join us to see how you can work with MVC, Web API, and Web Pages together in Visual Studio 2015 to build your web applications and integrations quickly and effectively.
