Is It Django or django? Paths Into Open Source by Alex Hatfield
It can be hard to know where to begin with open source contribution - what should one contribute to, what process to follow, and is it 'Django' or 'django'? This talk covers some approaches that I can vouch for, including attending the Django on the Med sprints and participating in the Djangonaut Space programme.Alex is an independent software engineer and contractor, with experience spanning central government and startups. Most recently led development at an edtech scaleup. I specialise in Django and Python, and am passionate about open source and tech communities. Outside of tech, I enjoy running and live music.
