About us

What is this group about?
Dork Dancing is a free dance movement & mental health advocacy campaign where celebration & activism meet for a happier & healthier world. Dork Dancing is free dancing, sober; it's a new kind of dance therapy. It doesn't matter how you move. We are trading judgment for acceptance: really, move however you would like, there's no right or wrong way. Many try to avoid looking like a dork, here we are embracing that.

What do you do at your events?
Strangers and friends from the community come together to dance like dorks while celebrating life and advocating for mental health. Our events start with a short warmup, so people can learn how to dork dance. Then, our dancing evolves into free form/ flow. No right or wrong. Just dork dancing.

Who should join the group?
Anyone who identifies with the mental health cause and wishes to advocate for its progress. This group is also for anyone who is interested to challenge their dance and social anxieties away, or to more simply, enjoy a carefree dance space. While not a support group, we exist for mental health and are a supportive community.

Any dues or fees you plan to charge members?
No dues or fees. Our public events are always open and free to anyone who desires to practice our values.

The group's affiliation, if it's associated with a business or organization
