Details

What: Join the East Tennessee Wanderers for a walk on the Coytee Loop Branch Trail (5K/3.1 miles or 10K/6.2mi.) along the eastern shores of Tellico Lake, Greenback, TN. The trail is part of the East Lakeshore Trail system. We will also plan to have an optional lunch (at Calhoun's, Lenoir City) following our walks for those who are interested. This section of the East Lakeshore Trail system does allow pets.

NO RESTROOMS at Trailhead: Please plan to stop in Lenoir City or Maryville on your way to the Coytee Loop Trailhead if needed.

When: Monday, Feb 2nd, 2026. The 10K walkers leave at 9:00am and the 5K group will leave at 10:00am. Try to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure.

Where: We will meet at the East Lakeshore Trail Coytee Loop Trailhead, 325 Coytee Rd, Greenback, TN. Look for the "Neon Green Shirts", as we will be your guides for this walk. Lunch will be at Lenoir City Calhoun's, 4550 City Park Dr, Lenoir City, TN.

Details: The Coytee Loop Branch walks are on dirt trails with moderate elevation changes (400 ft for the 5K and 800ft for the 10K). It is fully shaded. Some people may wish to bring walking sticks for a few sections that may have uneven ground. This would be rated a 3C walk with the AVA rating scale.

Registration: This is an American Volksport Association (AVA) sanctioned club walk and we have a modest $3.00 fee per walker, payable to the walk leader when you arrive, to cover sanctioning fees and insurance costs. Exact change appreciated.

Pets are allowed on this walk.
