Del Valle Reservoir in Livermore-Ebike, and Optional Boating

Details
We start the day with taking a rental boat from the boat launch and motor around the lake for two hours. Cost for the rental boat will be between $20 and $30 per person, depending on the number of people and the size of the boat. Please be at the boat dock at 9am, as we all need to go through a safety check and be issued lifejackets. After motoring around the lake, we come back at 11:30am and go to the large, shaded picnic area to eat your picnic lunch that you should bring. After lunch at 1pm, we will start the ebike ride. If you only want to do the ebike ride, you can meet up with us at the boat launch at 1pm, ready to ride.
[A single battery will suffice for this ride. ]
Estimate 20 mile total ebike ride distance, with some hilly conditions. Trails are wide fire roads, with an occasional, optional intermediate single track. Recommend a mid-drive ebike with mouintain bike tires.
All departure and return times are approximated. Please keep this in mind if you were going to make plans to return at a certain time, which is discouraged.
Park either just outside the park and ebike in for free, or pay day use fee at the Kiosk and then turn right to meetup point at the boat launch parking lot in front of the boat store. Ask ranger at kiosk for directions to boat launch, if needed.
ARRIVE: 9:00 AM to meet and greet at boat launch/store parking lot.
[Restrooms available.]
LEAVING: 9:30 AM sharp.
Return: around 3:00 PM
Rides along the numerous dirt roads, with an occasional easy single track. Numerous wildlife will be encountered. Wild turkeys, deer, birds of all sorts. Bring binoculars if you like. Spectacular views of the lake from numerous lookouts.
I will be RVing in the campground from Wednesday to Saturday. If you have an RV or tent, you can camp any or all of these days. I will have an RV spot with electricity so anyone can come and recharge their ebike batteries at my camp site.
Note that there is no cell service in the park. If you need to contact me, please do it before 9:45am by telephone or email. Note that I have a Starlink system with high speed internet that is available for anyone that comes to the campground. Paul Trainer (650) 387-8502 or paulwtrainer@gmail.com
