Please join us on Thursday, April 23rd, for a special evening of great food and entertainment. You'll see a pair of classic mystery films, featuring two of the most iconic characters in the history of detective fiction.

Up first (at 6:00 PM) we'll show the 1938 Fox mystery film, CHARLIE CHAN IN HONOLULU, which starred Sidney Toler, Phyllis Brooks, Victor Sen Yung, Eddie Collins, John 'Dusty' King, Claire Dodd and George Zucco. The film was directed by H. Bruce Humberstone and based on characters created by Earl Derr Biggers.
Number 2 son Jimmy impersonates his famous father, Charlie Chan, in order to investigate a murder aboard a freighter ship. Dad eventually catches on and works to solve the case.

Next Up, at approximately 7:30 is the 1943 Universal detective / mystery film, SHERLOCK HOLMES FACES DEATH, which starred Basil Rathbone, Nigel Bruce, Dennis Hoey, Arthur Margetson and Hillary Brooke. The film was directed by Roy William Neill and was based on the characters created by Arthur Conan Doyle.
Several murders occur at a WWII convalescent home where Dr. Watson is in charge. He asks Holmes for help, who proceeds to investigate a long list of suspects.

The restaurant is called; the CITY BUFFET.

There is a private room at the back of the restaurant, so we won't be disturbed by other diners. We will have short breaks throughout the evening, so attendees can restock their plates.

The restaurant is located at: 100 Live Oaks Blvd Casselberry, FL 32707….. near the intersection of 436 and 17-92.

In addition to the films and food, there may be other surprises, including trivia contests and free prizes. There is no charge for the movies, you just pay for your dinner. I hope you can make it!
