Melissa will be going over what myofascia is, where and how trauma
stores in the body, what somatic release is, and how myofascial release
helps.

Melissa Dittmer graduated Hollins University in 1997 with a BA in Biology.  After working in several scientific research disciplines, she decided to pursue massage therapy at Medical Arts Massage School in Raleigh. She completed their program in 2003, and her Reiki Mastership in 2005. 

While she now focuses mostly on myofascial release to achieve the best possible results with her clients, she does intuitively mix in medical, orthopedic, and other massage techniques as necessary. As the result of her own healing and research, she also incorporates sound healing by way of bilateral tonal music, which has been shown to reduce anxiety and allow the mind and body to reconnect at deeper, unconscious levels.

As Melissa developed her abilities as an energy worker, she recognized she had a gift to read and interpret chakra energy as well as energy trapped or deposited in the body. As she experimented with the work, she saw that bringing conscious awareness to her clients regarding any energy issues significantly improved their overall wellness.

When she’s not with clients, she spends her time with her family and friends, developing her spiritual practices, gardening, crafting, hiking, camping, learning about biodiverse food forests, and creating various home remedies.
