This group is for individuals aged 18-40 who struggle with OCD and intrusive thoughts. The aim of the group is to provide a confidential and non-judgemental space for people to share their experiences with OCD, and to share information about OCD treatment (particularly if this is something that is not accessible to you) as well as support each other on our recovery journey! A formal diagnosis is not required. The meet up will have this general structure: 1. Introductions and catching up on how the last two weeks have been 2. Group discussion - either on a pre-planned question or a topic of choice by the group members Soft drinks will be provided. **Group rules** * Please arrive on time! * Confidentiality - what is said in the group is not spoken about outside the group * No talking over others * Please only click attending if you are definitely planning on attending so that we have an idea of numbers - MUST have a ticket to come (new space rules) The group will take place at Hope in the community located on the first floor of the Gordon Hospital. Such forces are often appearing as difficulties or a sense of being 'stuck' in life, affecting our behaviour, relationships, career, health/wellbeing, or even financial circumstances. This method provides a three-dimensional ‘map’ of one’s life as it is at present. It is a simple yet powerful way to explore entanglements and blockages in our personal life and our family history. The method brings awareness and clarity into personal challenges by focusing the client on the root cause of such difficulties. Constellations provide an opening for a positive life shift and present ways for deep healing processes to occur. **WHAT HAPPENS IN A CONSTELLATION SESSION?** In Constellations work the ‘client’ is referred to as the ‘Issue Holder’. The method uses workshop participants as ‘Representatives’ to stand in for key people in the client’s life such as family members, colleagues, partners, ex-partners, etc., sometimes ‘abstract’ concepts such as an emotion, country of origin, religion, or destiny are also represented. All participants are invited to take part as Representatives. It means that some of our behaviour patterns can be attributed to traumatic events in our family history. When we slow down and bring our attention to the present moment and try to stay curious about what’s actually happening, so much begins to reveal itself. Things that usually go unnoticed come into awareness - whether that’s sensation, impulse, feeling, thought, image, or desire. In a recent circle, a participant described the practice as “intimate”, and that feels true for me also. It invites moving closer to and revealing one’s inner world - first to ourselves and then to others if we choose to. Circling is a practice I know well, through many years of practising and leading groups, as well as through my one-to-one work with clients which underpins my practice. I want to support people coming together to practice Circling, being with ourselves and others in what’s actually happening, meeting ourselves and each other where we already are and building capacity to be with and respond to whatever happens next, the unknown… Inspired by being in intimacy and the unknown I'm offering another closed group and I’d love for you to join. A closed container where we journey together over 6 weeks, allowing for more trust and depth to unfold between us. Monday evening for 6 weeks starting 27th April to 8th June, £195. There’s no expectation to be vulnerable or to share anything that feels too personal or emotional and you are always welcome to speak, remain silent, pause, step back and take a break, leave or ask for what you want, including asking for support. Participants are also invited to respect one another’s pace and boundaries. The intention of my Circling leadership is to support myself and people in staying present with their experience while in relationship with others, and to develop greater awareness of how they are meeting that experience. Having said that, like solo meditation, it’s normal that we will all repeatedly lose presence and Circling can sometimes evoke strong emotions or reactions in people which can be difficult for them and challenging for others in the space to navigate. This is an in-person meeting. Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance. Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you. The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life. For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues. So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them? That is what this meeting will be all about.
