Inspired by the Peripatetic School in Athens founded by Aristo where clases were taught walking outdoors, we will learn, debate, enjoy and investigate both philosophers and diverse themes from the philosophical perspective while walking through the beautiful parks and streets of Lisboa. I started this group to meet other philosophy enthusiasts. Looking forward to walk through philosophy together with everybody.

Each reunion is structured as a conversation among all attendees about that day s philosopher softly moderated by the organizer. The conversation will kick-off from the very brief suggested reading providing easy access to all attendees both to the philosopher and the conversation.

the Human being as (is) the problem.
All major global issues we face nowadays, such as Global Warming, Global Arms race, the unstoppable and uncontrollable power of technology and specifically AI, the several ongoing wars on diverse fronts, unequal distribution of resources with its toll on emerging conflicts, the complex relation between technology and power (resources, capabilities, money), etc... seem to possess the same triggering element: the human being. All attempts to solve them separately, such as diverse Arms control agreements, different types and formats of Aid for development, laws to control AI or the CO2 emissions, etc... seem very well intended and largely insufficient for the scope, depth and emergency of the problems faced. And in the global debate around those issues, mostly about new laws or new technologies to face those problems, we perceive the remarkable absence of the debate about the central cause of all those issues: an unstoppable human being increasingly powerful.
Maybe its time to talk about the elephant on the room.
