One of New York’s most iconic Italian restaurants returns to its historic Greenwich Village carriage house with a renewed spirit. In 1998, Babbo pioneered a new style of fine dining by defying convention with bold interpretations of regional Italian dishes, embracing off-beat ingredients, and serving it all to a classic rock soundtrack. Under the guidance of Executive Chef Mark Ladner, this next chapter continues the celebration of old-world hospitality and New Yorkers’ zeal for dining out, defined by lively tableside presentations rooted in whimsy rather than formality, all within an intimate candlelit dining room. The menu balances beloved traditions like the Pasta Tasting with new signatures shaped by Ladner’s decades-long study of Italian cooking and New York’s global palates. Think chilled Venetian glass bowls of local fin fish crudo, a 49-day minestrone, and the revered 100-layer lasagna with a Detroit-style finish. A sweet finale comes by way of the transcendent saffron panna cotta and zabaglione spooned tableside from a copper tureen. Please be ON TIME!!! 😊

We are heading to Brooklyn! Love this place! ‘Iron Chef’ Competition where YOU get to be the JUDGE!!! You are encouraged to walk around, converse and ask for samples as Chefs cook! The competition is FIERCE and everything is made from SCRATCH!!! Since that means you get 6 COURSES TOTAL, Ppl report leaving STUFFED w/ LEFTOVERS!!!
Come and experience a night like nothing else as you watch two chefs face off in a 3 course battle, "Iron Chef" style. We will provide some light snacks upon arrival then watch as each chef will receive mystery ingredients and be faced the task of creating an appetizer, a main course and a dessert using each of the ingredients. You will get a first hand look at every step and then you, the guest, will be the judge, getting to decide which chef gets the 1st place dollar prize and which gets the 2nd place. You will get a plate of each chef's 3 courses as well! This competition will be one to remember and one you will never experience anywhere else! Our beverage menu which includes wine, beer and single serving cocktails is available throughout the event for purchase.
CHEF ALEXIS
Chef Alexis Sicklick graduated top of her class from both The Culinary Institute of America and Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. Before joining Hudson Table, Alexis has worked at some of the most respected and influential restaurants In NYC including Dirt Candy, Aquavit, and most recently as the Executive Chef of Balaboosta. When she is not busy teaching classes, competing, or presenting Cellar Dinners, Alexis enjoys showcasing her Contemporary American cuisine through pop-ups under her brand Syncopated, where she offers vegetable forward cooking with a rhythmical flair.We cannot accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies at Chef Competitions. A Masterful Italian Menu Showcasing Two James Beard Award–Recognized Powerhouses
We are heading to JBF Platform! Lidia is a Culinary Legend! I still miss Felidia! At 78, try her food before she retires! When I think Lidia I think PBS. Two powerhouses of Italian cuisine unite for a singular dinner showcasing their impressive talents. Multiple James Beard Award winner® Lidia Matticchio Bastianich and Seven-time James Beard Award nominee® Chef Amy Brandwein will create a menu where pasta takes the spotlight—abundant, generous, and prepared with the mastery that has made their names synonymous with Italian food.
Matticchio Bastianich, a celebrated restaurateur, partner of Eataly, Emmy Award–winning PBS host, and author of the forthcoming Lidia’s The Art of Pasta, has introduced generations of Americans to the flavors and traditions of Italy through her restaurants, television programs, and cookbooks. Brandwein, the chef/owner of Centrolina and Piccolina in Washington, D.C., is known for her refined, soulful cooking that captures the spirit of Italy with every plate.
