Our mission is simple: to create a space where every member feels valued, supported, heard, and, above all, inspired. With Evansville Outdoors, you're not just joining a club; you're becoming part of a cooperative whose goal is to make unforgettable outdoor experiences available to everybody.

See all- Carpageddon (aka Wabash River Float)June Barrett Public Access Site, New Harmony, IN
Join us for a long float down the Wabash River.
We'll start at the June Barrett Public Access Site on Church Street in New Harmony, IN and paddle (or float) 5 miles downstream to Harmonie State Park.
This float will take approximately 2~4 hours. We'll eat lunch at Harmonie State Park.
Be prepared to battle some Asian carp while paddling. They jump out of the water in masses (as shown in the photo). Bring a knife of other long sharp object to terminate any carp that might land in your boat. (Laws prohibit throwing live carp back into the water.)WHAT TO BRING:
- PFD
- Sunscreen
- Dry bag with change of clothes
- Packed lunch, snacks, and water.
- a knife (or screwdriver) to spear any carp that land in your boat.
LOGISTICS:
We'll carpool from USI at 9:00am. All drivers will need to go to Harmonie State Park, where we'll leave a vehicle at the takeout. We'll then meet at the June Barrett site in New Harmony at 10:30am, where we'll begin our paddling adventure.COST:
Drivers will need $7 for entry into Harmonie State Park.
Otherwise, this event is free. (Consider pitching in for gas, though.)OTHER NOTES:
This event will be postponed in the case of flood-stage water levels (above 12ft), and may be shortened in the case of low levels.GROUND RULES:
