DESCRIPTION
Why Lava Lake? It's a shaded hike through woods next to a rushing stream on a trail accented with stone and boulders and blue skies above pine trees....with a gradual 1600' incline throughout...and an amazing payoff at a beautiful lake in the shadow of the Spanish Peaks.

We plan to relax at the lake for a short bit, time allowing. Perfect place to read, eat, cool off in the water, and just enjoy a serene place.

MEET AT THE TRAILHEAD.
The trail is about 35 minutes outside of Bozeman. Ashna and Ashley, the hosts will wait for 15 minutes for any stragglers.
