What we’re about
Wild food is everywhere. Finding wild food that is safe and legal to harvest is difficult. That's because in California the place that is most accessible to foraging is private land. And a lot of people don't have access to private land. To rebuild our connection to the land, we have to rebuild our connections to each other. That's why we created Fallow Feasts!
We've connected to local land owners who let us collect wild, edible and medicinal plants from their yards and fields. The landowner gets help tending their land, and we get access to an incredible bounty of wild foods that would otherwise end up in the compost pile.
We invite you to come cook and craft with the plants we've found.
Join us to:
- process plants
- meet others who are looking to connect to food in new ways
- make your own delicious, wild teas, seasonings, candies, jams, sauces, pickles, tinctures and oils to bring home with you
- learn about the wild, edible and medicinal plants all around San Diego
Gathering to process wild food is something humans have always done. It feels good. Come join us and experience it for yourself!
Babies and children welcome, though all attendees under the age of 18 must have a guardian with them.
