Farm-to-Table Events around Tokyo

Join us in Ogawamachi, which has one of the biggest organic farming communities in Japan, for a hands-on experience in organic farming.

We’ll do fieldwork, which might include tasks with spring and summer vegetables (pumpkins, cucumbers, eggplants, Jerusalem artichokes, bok choy, carrots, herbs, onions, lettuce, sweet potatoes, etc.).

Afterward, we’ll cook Okonomiyaki together on an outdoor griddle in our private forest.
We'll then take a hike through the forest, and enjoy relaxing and forest bathing in the forest.

Lunch will be prepared with Kana-san from Asun, who runs a Taiwanese food stall locally.

Organic Farming Experience

■ Schedule:
10:00: Meet at Ogawamachi Station entrance
10:00-10:10: Get to know each other
10:10-10:30: Walk to the farm
10:30-12:00: Organic farming experience
12:00-13:30: Lunch in our forest
13:30-14:30: Hiking and forest bathing in the forest
14:30-15:00: Return to Ogawamachi Station and disband

※After the event, many participants often choose to go to a cafe together, and other places too.

■ Additional Information:

• Restrooms are available near the field and forest.

If you'd like to stay in town before or after the event, we can suggest several accommodations.

■ Participation Fee:

• 3,000 yen
• The fee covers lunch, guide services, and maintenance of our managed forest.

■ Meeting Place and Time:

• In front of Tobu Tojo Line's Ogawamachi Station entrance ※Note: This is Ogawamachi in Saitama, not Tokyo.
• 10:00 AM. There is a convenience store nearby if you need to buy anything or use the restroom before gathering.
• Please be on time as we cannot wait for late arrivals.

Example trains for the day:

• Tobu Tojo Line from Ikebukuro Station at 8:36 AM → Arrives at Ogawamachi Station at 9:50 AM (no transfer)
• Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line from Shibuya Station at 8:11 AM → Arrives at Ogawamachi Station at 9:40 AM (no transfer)
• Tokyu Toyoko Line from Yokohama Station at 7:42 AM → Arrives at Ogawamachi Station at 9:40 AM (no transfer)

※If you need to transfer at Ikebukuro Station, we recommend allowing extra time for your connection.

■ Dress Code:

• Please wear clothes that can get dirty and are appropriate for farming and hiking.
• A hat or a cap is recommended. Gloves will be provided.
• Hiking shoes are recommended for the forest, though sneakers are also common.
• If you are not fond of insects, please also bring insect repellent spray.

■ Requests for Participants:

• Please bring your own drinking water.
• We will send a confirmation message one week before the event, so please make sure to reply.
• Please take your trash home with you.
• Please note that we cannot be responsible for any injuries, accidents, losses, thefts, damages, or other issues that may occur during the event.

The guide speaks both English and Japanese, so no need to worry about language barriers. :)

オーガニック農業体験＆森でハイキングとお好み焼き作り

日本で最も有機農業が盛んである町の一つである小川町で、土に触れ、畑作業をしながら有機農業を体験します。

春・夏の野菜（カボチャ、きゅうり、ナス、菊芋、チンゲンサイ、ニンジン、ハーブ、玉ねぎ、レタス、さつまいもなど）の作業を行います。
その後、私たちのプライベートの森で、鉄板でお好み焼きを一緒に作りって食べます。

また、森の中をハイキングし、森林浴をしてリラックスします。

ご飯は、地元で台湾料理の出店を行う、阿孫の可奈さんと一緒に作ります。

・遅れて到着された方をお待ちすることはできませんので、お時間にはお気をつけください。

東武東上線 池袋駅8:36発の電車→9:50小川町駅着（乗り換えなし）
東京メトロ副都心線 渋谷駅8:11発の電車→9:40小川町駅着（乗り換えなし）

※池袋駅で乗り換えが必要な方は、乗り換え時間に余裕を持つことをお勧めします。

■ ドレスコード：

• 農業やハイキングに適した、汚れても良い服装をお願いします。帽子やキャップをお勧めします。手袋は提供されます。
• 森でのハイキングにはハイキングシューズをお勧めしますが、スニーカーでも一般的です。
• 虫が苦手な方は、虫除けスプレーもお持ちください。

・ご自身の飲料水をお持ちください。
・イベントの1週間前に参加確認のメッセージを送りますので、必ずご返信をお願いします。

Enjoy hiking in the countryside surrounded by mountains with fresh air, along a river, suitable for beginner to lower intermediate hikers.
After the hike, we'll come together in the forest to cook and enjoy Yakisoba!

We will start by enjoying a walk along the river in the scenic countryside, then hike in the mountains, walking down to our managed forest where we will cook Yakisoba together.
Lunch will be prepared and shared with everyone, in collaboration with Kana-san from Asun, who runs a Taiwanese food stall locally on weekends.

・We will hike to the Koshigoe Castle ruins.
・Suitable for beginner to lower intermediate level hikers
・The trail includes uphill and downhill sections and may be slightly rough in places.
・We will take breaks and adjust our pace to suit everyone.

■ Meeting Place and Time:
・In front of the Tobu Tojo Line Ogawamachi Station entrance ※Note: This is Ogawamachi in Saitama, not Tokyo.
・10:00 AM. There is a convenience store nearby if you need to purchase anything or use the restroom before gathering.

この日は自然豊かな田舎の川沿いを歩き、初級者〜初中級者レベルの山のハイキングを楽しみます。
その後、森で一緒に焼きそばを作って食べましょう！

この日は自然豊かな田舎の川沿いウォーキングを楽しみ、山でのハイキングをし、私たちの管理する森へ下りて、一緒に焼きそばを作って食べます。
ご飯は、地元で週末に台湾料理の出店を行っている、阿孫（あーそん）の可奈さんと一緒にみんなで作って食べる予定です。
