Hiking and Camping in the Waitakeres ( Huia Valley ) Medium Fitness- 5 hr Loop

From: Stephen F

Hello All.

Apologies if you've seen this already.

I've updated this special Feet First Hiking and Camping Event at Huia for next weekend which is a day hike to Mt Donald McLean Lookout which has 360 degree views of the Manakau Harbour and towards Whaipu and back towards Auckland City.

Later on we visit Karamatura Waterfalls for an afternoon dip if its hot.

We then stay overnight in the Barn Paddock Campsite with your car next to you...And the cost is only $8 per person.

Plus - I've arranged for us to have dinner after our hike at the local Seaside Huia Cafe which is a hidden treasure for day visitors till 7,30 pm...They are going to stay open late for us till around 8.30pm. Full kitchen will be available serving big burgers...chips and salads etc.

Then return to campground 5 mins drive away for drinks and socializing !

So you don't need to bring extra food, or cooking equipment.

Note - This hike is only for those camping overnight after hike .

Next event I will be leading will be around mid December for our Feet First Christmas Pot Luck/Bring some food to share for dinner in the big cave at Whatipu for those interested.

Meanwhile, have a look at this event coming up on Saturday 28th Nov.

Cheers Stephen .

When: Saturday, November 28, 2015 .
