RSVP's Open for Afternoon Starting Night Hike- Karekare Beach to Pararaha Valley -Loop Walk

From: Stephen F

Hi All.

Join Stephen F  and other Feet First Members at Karekare Beach on Saturday the 24th September with our repeat of our very popular night  easy social and dinner hike that starts at around 5pm .

This is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow members while sitting in a hidden valley , over dinner which you bring, and then you may like to bring along some sweet treats or a home made dessert treat from your home country to share with other members.

The campsite in the Pararaha is a location to stay, for those walking the Hillary Trail.

Nearby the place has a shelter and lovely grass to sit on ,, with a nearby stream with some magnificent rocky bluffs to look at it while we eat .

I've been visiting this area for many decades and it always has something different to marvel at . So I'm sure if you are interested, this will be a hike with a lasting memory, which involves walking back along the beach at night over sand dunes, through a small tunnel and listening to the breaking waves in the distance .

Getting there takes around 3 hours , and then 2 to return, so we expect to be back at our cars around 10.30 -11pm which are secure in the carpark at Karekare Beach .  .

Expect amazing coastal views along the Tasman Sea , with some short hill climbs, but we'll stop lots to rest and take pictures along the way.

Meeting at Karekare Beach at 4.30pm .
