What we're about

Let's build some community! The Flagstaff Freethinkers is a community-oriented group of atheists, skeptics and other Freethinkers that meets for social events, discovery, discussion, volunteer opportunities and family-friendly activities.

Freethought (or "free thought") is a philosophical viewpoint which holds that positions regarding truth should be formed on the basis of logic, reason, and empiricism, rather than authority, tradition, revelation, or other dogma. In particular, freethought is strongly tied to the rejection of traditional social or religious belief systems. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freethought )

Anyone willing to have their viewpoints questioned and wanting to seek truth through the lenses of reason and logic will find us a welcoming community - join for fellowship and fun!

Sunday afternoon coffee

Location visible to members

Due to cold weather and the need to remain outside for COVID safety, we are changing the time of the event to noon, when it's warmer. When it gets really cold, we will make further changes and transition to a modest exercise activity like walking in the park. There are indications that we may be able to resume normal activities soon, so stay tuned.

Meeting once a week for informal, agenda-less conversation is a long-standing Flagstaff Freethinkers tradition.

Merriam Webster defines a coffee klatsch as "An informal social gathering for coffee and conversation." The term “coffee klatch” comes from the German word, “kaffeeklatsch,” which translates to coffee (kaffee) + gossip (klatsch).

We hold this event outdoors at one of Kickstand's outdoor tables, or if there are none available, at the picnic table in the Dentist's parking lot behind Kickstand. We will have a sign advertising who we are. Look in the front and on the side, as we can't reserve tables in advance.

In consideration for a variety of people with health concerns and with your own health in mind, I ask that you only attend indoor in-person meetings if you are vaccinated. At outdoor meetings, if you are unvaccinated, please use a mask.
