Upcoming events (4+)
See all- Frisco Star Party!!!Frisco Commons Park, Frisco, TX
Please note that this event is in partnership with the Texas Astronomical Society.
Join us at Frisco Commons Park for a night of star gazing. Check back here or visit/join our Facebook group for updates including cancellation for weather.
This event is free and family friendly.
Fall and winter nights can be cold. Consult the forecast and dress for about 10º below that because it can get very cold when you are just standing around on cold pavement. Good shoes, a hat, ear coverings, and layers are your best bet. You can always take off what's not needed.
There are public restrooms at this location.
If you have a telescope and would like to bring it out with you, the more the merrier. If you are wanting assistance in working with your telescope, our volunteers will do their best to help. However, depending on crowd size, this is not always possible. The warmer the weather, the more crowded the park.
BTW this is only a stargazing party - no food or drink required.
Click on the Google Map to get more information about the park’s location. You can also use your smart phone map app to get directions to Frisco Commons Park. Both Google Maps and Apple Maps have the park in their database. The volunteer telescope operators will be set up at the “compass rose” between the circle drive and the large pavilion to the north. Parking is to the right as you enter the park.
- AIDS Services of Dallas Supper Club731 N Ewing Ave, Dallas, TX
On the fourth Thursday of every month our group serves the residents of the Ewing House as part of our partnership with AIDS Services of Dallas. The Supper Club is a program that provides the residents hot, nutritious meals every night. In addition to sharing home cooked meals, social interaction is also an important benefit.
Our volunteers are instrumental in the success of this program. Please bring one or two dishes that are enough to feed 15-20 residents, employees, and volunteers. I have created a SignUpGenius with our themed menu of the month. Please sign up for the item(s) you will be bringing. Please bring food as prepared as possible before arrival. We do have an oven and gas stove for reheating.
