What: FOF Philosophy Discussion Group
Where: CARROLLTON PUBLIC LIBRARY AT HEBRON AND JOSEY
How: READINGS (and sometimes videos) discussed in-depth amongst the group. These tend to be from academic sources.

Is an omnipotent, omnibenevolent, omniscient, etc. being required for morality to be said to be "objective"? Atheist and theist philosophers actually line up on both sides of this question. The above debate is a starting point to introduce this area of controversy.
Note: there is no party line to adhere to in this discussion. Alternative ideas are welcomed provided that they are discussed civilly.
(Recently a proposal was made to begin discussing a book on the philosophical analysis of ethics. The group will also decide whether to go in that direction at this meeting. The book is here.)
Note about our group:We are approaching these topics in a "spirit of learning": we should be humble (we do not know everything), eager to learn, and willing to challenge each other while being kind and considerate.
There will be people of various backgrounds in philosophy — you do not need to be an expert in philosophy to be in the group. If a topic is new to you, here are some excellent resources, if you are interested:
