  1. Sri Lanka
The "Pearl of the Indian Ocean". A small island with huge variety — ancient cities, tea plantations, beaches, wildlife, and temples all in one trip. It’s tropical, affordable, and packed with culture, spice, and the warmest hospitality. You can go from jungle to beach to mountains in a single day.

  2. Polonnaruwa
The 2nd ancient capital of Sri Lanka, and an open-air museum of ruins. Walk or cycle past 1000-year-old palaces, temples, and massive Buddha statues. The highlight is Gal Vihara — 4 giant Buddha statues carved straight into granite rock. It’s peaceful, flat, and feels like stepping back in time. UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  3. Anuradhapura
Sri Lanka’s 1st ancient capital and one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. This is the spiritual heart of the country. Key sights: the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree — grown from a cutting of the original Bodhi tree in India, and massive white dagobas/stupas like Ruwanwelisaya. Sacred, quiet, and deeply important to Buddhists worldwide.

  4. Lion Rock / Sigiriya
The icon of Sri Lanka. A 200m tall rock fortress that rises straight out of the jungle. Climb 1200 steps past ancient frescoes and the famous Lion’s Paws to reach a 5th-century palace at the top. The views over the surrounding plains are unreal. It’s history, adventure, and one epic photo in one place.

  5. Kandy
The cultural capital in the hills. Cool climate, a beautiful lake in the city center, and home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic — one of Buddhism’s most sacred sites. Catch a traditional Kandyan dance show in the evening. Kandy is the perfect mix of culture, markets, and laid-back hill-town vibes.

  6. Nuwara Eliya
"Little England" in the clouds. At 1,868m, it’s all about tea. Rolling green tea plantations**, colonial-style bungalows, cool misty weather 15-20°C, and waterfalls. Visit a tea factory, take the scenic train ride from Kandy, and sip Ceylon tea at the source. Perfect for nature lovers and anyone who wants a break from the heat.**

Together: Ancient wonders + sacred cities + jungle fortress + cultural heart + tea country. That’s Sri Lanka in one trip.
