Paris 1941. François Mercier is an ordinary man whose only goal is to start a family with the woman he loves, Blanche. He is also the employee of a talented jeweler, Mr. Haffmann. But faced with the German occupation, the two men will have no choice but to enter into an agreement whose consequences, over the months, will change the destinies of our three characters.
The result is a “chamber thriller” with social resonances, based on artificial but effective narrative suspense, and on excellent soloists: Gilles Lellouche is a very convincing bastard in spite of himself, Daniel Auteuil in the role of the jeweler is at his taciturn peak, while Sara Giraudeau brings to her score a richness and depth that were not evident on paper. – Positif

An idea: seduce her. He’s Wourad. He’s twenty-seven. He likes to say it’s the age of Christ… when he was twenty-seven. He finds it funny. He’s a pain sometimes. And often he’s misogynistic, homophobic, racist. He ticks all the wrong boxes. A bit of a lost guy. A guy who never knew who he really was. One day, he meets a girl. Not at all lost, you’d say. Damn smart, even. Since he loves stupid bets, he gives himself thirty days to screw her. Not one more. But something unexpected is going to happen to him. A funny thing, with her. She’s Imène.

“This effervescent classic radiates with rage and comedy. Mathieu Kassovitz’s celebrated story of inequality in a Paris banlieue is a timely re-release in the Black Lives Matter era” – The Guardian
