About us
This group is for people in active recovery from substance use who want to build connection, community, and a fulfilling sober life in San Francisco.
All events organized through this group are sober events. Even if we attend venues where alcohol may be present (such as concerts, karaoke, or restaurants), members are expected to remain sober during group activities. The goal is to create a supportive environment where people in recovery can socialize and have fun without substances.
Recovery can sometimes feel isolating, especially in a city where so much socializing revolves around alcohol or substances. This group exists to create a space where people in recovery can meet others who understand the journey and want to spend time together doing normal, enjoyable things.
We’ll organize casual, sober activities like:
Coffee meetups
Museum visits
Movies
Walks and hikes
Exploring neighborhoods
Karaoke, live music, and other outings where we attend as a sober group
This is not a formal recovery meeting or therapy group. Instead, it’s a chance to connect with other people who are committed to recovery and want to build friendships and community around shared experiences.
Who this group is for:
People in active recovery from alcohol, substance use, or another maladaptive behavior
People who are committed to maintaining sobriety
People who are curious about recovery and exploring a sober lifestyle
What we ask from members:
Attend events sober
Respect everyone’s recovery journey
Be kind, welcoming, and supportive of others
Whether you’re newly sober or have been in recovery for years, you’re welcome here. Recovery is easier, and more fun, when we don’t do it alone.
