This Sunday we’ll hike from Palézieux to Vevey via Mont Pèlerin, a scenic route crossing forests, meadows, and the stunning Lavaux vineyard terraces overlooking Lake Geneva. We'll gradually ascend from the village of Palézieux through peaceful countryside and forest trails until we reach the summit of Mont Pèlerin (1,080 m). From there, we descend along vineyard paths all the way to Vevey, where we can enjoy a drink by the lake.
🏔️ HIKE DETAILS:
We meet at Palézieux train station and start our climb through forested trails. The route takes us past farmland and rural paths before ascending Mont Pèlerin. After enjoying the panoramic views, we continue the descent through Chardonne and into the Lavaux vineyards, eventually arriving in Vevey.
We’ll maintain a steady pace, with stops for photos and lunch.
- Distance: ~15 km
- Elevation gain: ~820 m (ascent) / ~530 m (descent)
- Duration: ~5 hours including breaks
📍 Meeting Point: Palézieux Station, 09:55 sharp
🏃♀️ TECHNICAL / PHYSICAL DIFFICULTY:
Moderate. This is a steady climb at the beginning, followed by a long descent. There are no technical sections, but the hike requires good endurance.
🌤️ WEATHER:
Clear skies and mild temperatures (20–22°C). Perfect hiking conditions. Bring sunscreen.

- Arrive: Palézieux at 09:52 (direct, no changes)
From Lausanne:
- Depart: Lausanne at 09:37 (InterRegio to Luzern)
- Arrive: Palézieux at 09:52
🥾 WHAT TO BRING:
- Proper hiking boots (no sneakers)
- Jacket or windbreaker
- Hat / sunglasses / sunscreen
- Trekking poles (optional but helpful)
- Lunch and snacks
- At least 1.5L water
