Appalachian Trail hike up Siler Bald from Winding Stair Gap

Sierra Club Siler Bald hike from Winding Stair Gap on the A.T. trail west of Franklin, North Carolina.
5,216 foot Siler Bald is cooler than mountain areas in Georgia and much cooler than Atlanta temps.
Summer temperatures still only reach the 60's and 70's. Siler Bald has 360 degree views of the surrounding North Carolina mountains.
We will hike there from Winding Stair Gap via the Appalachian Trail. We will take a moderate pace with rest-stops at scenic points.
