What we’re about
Calling all freelancers, writers, artists, work-at-home folks, stay-at-home parents, students, the funemployed, and anyone else non-9-to-5 who could use some human contact and a change of scene while everyone else is at work! Everyone is welcome (including kids, if they can behave themselves in adult company). Our past meetups give a good sense of what type of activities we do -- feel free to suggest others too. We stick most closely to Oakland and the East Bay, but have been known to go elsewhere as well. Meetups are low-key, mostly low-cost, and generally freeform; we don't typically do guided walks or group games or anything too structured. Our gatherings tend to last about 1-3 hours and people stay as long as they like. The idea is just to get out of the house and see some folks, then return to your day recharged and inspired.
This group does not charge dues, but if you attend events, voluntary contributions are welcome. You can donate via the website (Meetup will take a small cut) or bring cash to any of our events. Thank you!
