All ages are welcome!

The purpose of this group is to enjoy the great outdoors and making and enjoying being with friends. Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties will be the location of many of our adventurous activities involving indoor and outdoors. Join us for South Florida events, adventures and social gatherings.

Among the activities that we enjoy are: boating, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, horseback riding, bicycling and canoeing. We travel to nature centers and state parks for hiking and exploration.

Our indoor events include bowling, parties, board and game nights, dinner and movie nights and even our Super Bowl party!

In fact, we have lots of events and adventures that practically anyone, whether you are a single, family or couple, can enjoy! We would love to hear from our members with new ideas that would be fun for our group!

WE DO NOT CHARGE ANY DUES OR FEES; all costs on the site are ONLY what the vendor charges us for events.

Your participation in any of our activities is your acknowledgment that you are solely responsible for your own assessment of your abilities and your physical fitness to participate in that activity. Walkers and hikers must be physically fit and by joining any event you agree to waive all rights and claims for damages against Get Out There Adventures in South Florida, it's Organizers and Assistant Organizers.

This is a BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED group. We usually have 1 court per level, unless there are not enough courts available, in which case we'll mix skill levels.

Please bring your own paddle as there will not be any available to loan out.

This is one of the most beautiful parks in Florida featuring a tree canopy over most of the park, nine walking trails, a scenic 3-mile bike trail and a tram tour. An elevated boardwalk traverses an old-growth cypress swamp.

We have a full schedule of events and activities for the weekend, plus time to relax at your leisure. Also, join us for a concert of old fashioned string band music in the park.

Highlands Hammock State Park is a 9,251 acre park opened to the public in 1931. The park still preserves a scenic, virgin hardwood forest. The sharp-eyed wildlife observer can catch a glimpse of whitetail deer and alligators almost every day.
For a fascinating look at various areas,
the park offers nine separate nature trails, including the popular catwalk through a cypress swamp.

Cost per tent (paid by Zelle) is $85. It includes food (dinner friday, saturday all meals and Sunday breakfast) water and firewood for 1 person for the entire weekend. An extra person staying in the same tent pays additional $40. (If you pay via MeetUp, the cost is $95.00.

We will be bringing bicycles or they can be rented at the ranger station. We will also be hiking these fabulous trails.

Directions from South Florida: Take I-95 north to Blue Heron (exit #76) in West Palm Beach. Exit Blue Heron west to SR710, then right on SR710, heading NW through Indiantown, then another 25 (approx) miles to SR70. Go left (west) on SR 70 through Okeechobee, and turn right (north) on US98. Continue NW on US98, through Lorida. About ten miles past Lorida you will come to US27. Turn right (north) on US27 and just past Sebring (as you go around Lake Jackson) you will see signs for Highland Hammock State Park. Follow the signs into the park.
