Glasgow Necropolis Walk

Join Glasgow Young Walkers for a leisurely Sunday stroll to and around Glasgow's Necropolis, which looks out onto the beautiful city of Glasgow. Many a spooky ghost story and historical anecdote will be had. Come and join us on this fun and exciting walk through history!

Getting there
By car: Paid parking is available at Concert Square Car Park or Buchanan Galleries. Non-drivers will be expected to contribute to driving costs.

Public transport: Glasgow Queen St. Station is the closest train station to the walk starting point, and Glasgow Central is about a 10/15 minute walk from the starting point. Sunday service might apply, check your train arrival times.

Please note that the number of attendees is limited to 15 people for this walk.

This is an easy walk that is suitable for all fitness levels. Please wear suitable trainers, walking shoes or boots and weather appropriate clothing, plus water or snacks to take along with you.

There are toilets and coffee shops along the route, but none within the Necropolis itself.

Please be aware that we are trialling a new system, in which the week before this event the walk leader will contact you to confirm your attendance. If this is not confirmed by the date/time deadline set by the walk leader, you will be removed from the walk, and your space will be given to a waitlist member. If you don't respond or do not show up on the day of the walk, you will have a strike added to your name. After 3 strikes, you will be banned from the walk leaders' walks. This is to ensure fairness and also address the current no-shows for oversubscribed walks.
