The Despeauxrados, (VS) - Art Loeb Trail, Pilot Mtn., Farlow Gap, Daniel Ridge

This group meets Wed at University Square Shopping Center. The hikes are scheduled 1 to 4 weeks in advance and target hikes which are 10 miles long and climb 2000 ft. We hike at approx. 2.5 MPH, faster or slower depending on terrain.

This weeks hike: We'll hike up the Art Loeb Trail from Gloucester Gap to Pilot Mountain where we'll have a great view. Then down the Art Loeb to Farlow Gap, and down the Farlow Gap trail to the Daniel Ridge trail. Then back to the cars. Near the end of the hike, there will be an opportunity for swimming in one of Pisgah's best swimming holes, as well as viewing Daniel Ridge Falls. There will likely be wet creek crossings coming down Farlow Gap.

Carpooling will be available. All hikers should come prepared to drive to or meet at the trailhead. Carpool info: 108 mi. round trip to Gloucester Gap. from Publix. That fee is $9.00 (however, all cars will not need to go to Gloucester Gap so carpool fee may be determined on a case by case basis).
