(M) PRE-PICNIC HIKE Oconee SP - Hike the trails located in the park

This is a PRE-PICNIC hike for the annual GNHA summer picnic. Sign-up separately for the picnic event. You may sign up for either or both.

Meet at Publix for carpools for 8:30am departure or at trailhead in Oconee State Park at 10am. This is the parking area for the Office. If you do not have a park pass there is a fee. There is a map on the park’s website. If you are meeting at the trailhead, please say so in the comments.

Hike description:
Lake, Wormy chestnut, Old Waterwheel, and Oconee trails.
We will start at the Lake Trail and then continue onto the Wormy Chestnut Trail. Then we will hike the Palmetto trail before meeting up with the Old Waterwheel Trail. We will look at the Old Waterwheel Site before continuing on to the Oconee Trail. We will finish up going through the campsites before heading to lunch.
