(S) "Dean's List" — Panthertown Valley Waterfalls

(S) — Dean's List: Panthertown Valley Waterfall Loop

This is a beautiful loop hike in the Panthertown Valley of the Nantahala National Forest. We will see at least four waterfalls. There will be a couple of climbs good enough to get your heart pumping without anything killer, and we’ll lunch at the fabulous Salt Rock Overlook (photo above). We also have the opportunity to “get our feet wet “ in a sandy area near one of the waterfalls !

We will use two carpool points, departing University Square at 8:00, collecting people at Holly Springs at 8:45. The trailhead is Cold Mountain Gap Trailhead, north of Lake Toxaway. Plan to start on the trail at 10.
