(S) "Dean's List" — Silver Step Falls Loop

(S) — Dean's List: Silver Steps, Jones Gap, Coldspring and Tom Miller Trails loop in Mountain Bridge Wilderness Area. Starts at Silver Steps trailhead near Raven Cliff Falls Trailhead on 276 and drops down to Coldspring Branch to the Middle Saluda River then climbs up the river to Silver Steps Falls for a nice lunch spot and then climbs back to trailhead. Trail crosses creeks many times and can get muddy if it has rained recently but no wading required. Trail has been cleared since Helene hit and you get to see the impact of several large landslides from Helene.

Carpoolers leave promptly at 8:30AM from Publix Super Market at University Square, 5000 Old Buncombe Road near Furman University. Park near Mr Salsa Mexican Restaurant. If you are not carpooling meet at Silver Steps Trailhead at 9:00 AM on 276 just past the Raven Cliff Falls Trailhead.

If any interest there is a great little spot (The Outpost in Cedar Mountain) to get a snack and cold drink after the hike. Discuss with your carpool driver if they plan to stop for a post hike refreshment.
