(VS) "Dean's List" — The Stool at Table Rock State Park

(VS) — Dean's List: Table Rock: The Stool and CCC trails

I am excited about offering this hike as it is an old favorite which has been closed since 2016 and has just recently been reopened and is roughly 90% new trail access. According to Cherokee legend, the mountain got its name because it was tall and flat, like a table. They believed the Great Spirit sat on the smaller Stool Mountain (the peak to the right) and ate his meals on on the flat table.

In addition, we will hike a fairly new trail constructed by the CCC (Carolina Climbing Coalition) to access the bottom south face of Table Rock.

We will carpool from University Square at 8:00 or meet at the Swimming Area parking lot at 8:30. (This is a change from the previous White Oak picnic shelter meeting area!!!)
