GO: Anglesey Coast Camping & Hiking 2024

Long August b/h weekend by the seaside, with coastal walking, beach and swims, and pub social evenings. Expect awesome coastline, so join us for another memorable time. This year, we're revisiting amazing Anglesey, which was so much enjoyed on our previous trip, a revisit is demanded. We plan to hold walks on Fri, Sat, Sun. Mon, so book to arrive Thu and leave Tue for the full trip avoiding peak public travel times, but staying for less is fine if you can't get the whole time off.

Location Details:
We're staying at Moelfre on the lovely East Anglesey Coast. We've booked at Nant Bychan Farm campsite (LL72 8HF), which overlooks the bay with direct access to the coastpath, and is a short walk either into Moelfre village with pub, takeaways and shops, or to awesome sandy beaches. See these links:

The site itself is peaceful (50 pitches) with showers(20p)/toilets, and does not encourage large groups, so we need to book pitches individually by telephone (01248-410269 or 07766-047940) without asking to be group co-located etc.

If you leave it late, there are many alternative sites in the area, the best of which seem to be:

[Arfor Camping in Moelfre, Anglesey (campsites.co.uk)](https://www.campsites.co.uk/search/campsites-in-wales/anglesey/moelfre/arfor-camping)

Walking Options:
With vast coastlines to explore, we'll do just that while we're here, there are many new walk routes to do. Walking should be fairly chilled, no marathon challenges! There may be pub stops available, but take your own supplies each day (water, sandwich, loo roll at least), and pack stuff for the beach. On other days we may just enjoy the beaches and other attractions nearby, and a swim should be possible each day.

Provisional Itinerary (which we may interchange):

Campsite Payments & Booking:
You pay directly to the campsite owners, and are encouraged to book immediately. Payment is taken nearer the time. Smaller tents or sharing tents/pitches is most price effective, but they can suit most needs.

Some Essentials To Bring:
Personal toilet roll supply, shower-gel/soap, shower towel... beach towel, swim costume, beach-games... walking boots, day-sack, camping chair... both sun-cream and waterproofs. And of course, Tent, airbed, sleeping bag. And if cooking, kettle, pans, stove, plastic plates, cups, utensils, bin-liner, wash-up liquid, dish-sponge. We also advise fully charging your phone before setting out, as limited recharging options.

And apart from campsite rules, don't bring hard drugs, weapons, and overhead drones, these violate group rules.

Emergency Contact:
Emergency contact is 078.13.73.76.23 but since phone loses charge rapidly it won't be switched on permanently and available just for actual emergencies. Internet won't be used during the event.

Be Cool, Be There!
All members welcome, new members too, anyone enjoying being at one with nature, or realistic about camping being as comfortable as you want to make it.
