Walk: The Nesscliffe Hills and Great Ness

Another charming brand new route from a new area for our group, just under an hour by car from the West Midlands main conurbation. Great as an individual walk, or as a weekend getaway combined with our other local walk on Saturday.

Logistics:
Meet: Arrive 10:15, for prompt start within 10-15 minutes.
Distance: Around 10 miles
Start Point: Nescliffe Woods Parking Lay-by, Hopton Lane, Nescliffe, Shropshire, SY4 1DH (w3w=seagulls.lottery.racetrack)
Parking: Roadside, long layby/verge, park close together please
Terrain: Hillside with views, woodland, gently rolling open country with fort, reservoir and plenty else as we go
Refreshments: Bring fluids & picnic lunch, and there will be a pub stop at Ruyton-Xi-Towns just after half distance.

Full Weekend Option:
Since we have 2 walks in relatively close proximity on Sat and Sun, why not make it a full weekend getaway? Although these walks are commutable each day via the M54, there are handy budget hotels (Premier Inn, Hammer Hill and Travelodge Shrewsbury Battlefield) and some great AirB&Bs.

Safety:
As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.

RSVP Commitment:
Places are not unlimited, so withdrawing in the last 24 hours is not allowed. Attendances shouldn't be compromised by ghosting (no-shows, late withdrawals) so reliable ones will take priority at future events.
