New Pub Crawl: Cannock & Brownhills

Following on from our last successful pub crawl in late Spring, we have a new route with plenty of new pubs in mind. will spend another whole afternoon sampling fine ales and ciders and wines, etc, and socializing at our leisure. Arrive by train or bus, and we will spend time in up to 3 pubs in each of Cannock, Brownhills and Aldridge. There are easy short bus routes between them.

The Pubs:
Cannock: Linford Arms, Newhall Arms, The Arcade
Brownhills: Jack Jigger Taylor, The Swan, The Jiggers Whistle
Aldridge: The Hopstation, Lazy Hill Tavern, Turtle's Head

The Itinerary:
Pubs 1-3: Meet 11:00 - 11:15 at The Linford Arms (79 High Green, Cannock, WS11 1BN) which serves breakfasts and brunches, after which we aim to cover two real ale micropubs nearby, one being nextdoor.

Catch #3 bus to Brownhills (13:40 arriving 14:09)
Pubs 4-6: Comprise a new(-ish) BC Ales venue, another micropub, and another fairly new High Street Ale Bar in Brownhills.

Catch #937 bus to Aldridge (15:45 arriving 16:00, or 16:18 arriving 16:32)
Pubs 7-9: Comprise a new craft ale bar, a longstanding Camra recommended alehouse nearly nextdoor, and another fantastic micropub.

Gathering:
We will gather at The LINFORD ARMS (A highly-rated Wetherspoons, which opens before 11am and serves breakfasts) to allow for time variations in our public transport over a coffee or a pint, and will leave there just before Midday, probably to The Newhall Arms next door.

Eating:
Food is available at some, and snacks at others, but we are taking in a few micropubs, so not all have food. Please note that we won't announce the exact timings in advance, to maintain flexibility and to discourage joining and leaving at odd times, which should maintain the social dynamic of a fully-attended event, and avoid disruption looking for people repeatedly. So please arrive somewhere around 11am or earlier if wanting breakfast at the first venue

Transport
To get to Cannock, there are regular trains from Birmingham New Street via Walsall or from Rugeley and Stafford. And there are buses 60/62 (Lichfield), X51 (Walsall, Birmingham), 63 (Rugeley, Uttoxeter) 70/71 (Wolverhampton) and 74/875 (Stafford)

To get home from Aldridge, there are regular buses such as 36A (Lichfield), 6 (Walsall, Sutton) 997/936 (Birmingham, Walsall) and 937A/937 (Brownhills, Birmingham)
