Walk: Llanrwst & Gwydir Forest: Snowdonia National Park

One of two new walk routes in and around the beautiful hills and landscapes around Llanrwst and Betws-y-Coed over this late summer weekend; the Snowdonia area should need no introduction.
This walk starts in Llanrwst and heads to Trefriw (via the footbridge over the river). We then head up to Llyn Crafnant. Beautiful countryside, and a mix of old lead mines, all adding to the interest. An exceptional walk (10-11 miles) and not be missed. Meet at 10.45 for a prompt start at 11.

Option to stay over locally on Saturday night, perhaps in Llandudno (Travelodge, Premier Inn, AirB&B) or camping, e.g. Cwmlanerch (near Betws-y-Coed) or y giler Arms, or pub Bunkhouse (e.g. Eagles Inn, Penmachno). Logistics Summary:
Meet: 10:45 for prompt 11:00 start, from Gower Road (near North Llanrwst Train Station). Note: a train from Llandudno arrives at North Llanrwst for 10:50.
Distance: Around 10-11 Miles
Early Arrivals: there is a Spar and coffee shops in Llanrwst (town square).
Parking: Library Car Park, Station Road, LL26 0DF - W3W: beeline.upward.ridge
Bring: Waterproofs & Refreshments & Good walking footwear, and clothing to match the weather.

A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.
