Walk: Lakes & Hills around Betws-y-Coed : Snowdonia National Park

One of two new walk routes in and around the beautiful hills and landscapes around Llanrwst and Betws-y-Coed over this late summer weekend; the Snowdonia area should need no introduction.
This walk heads up to Llyn Elsi, following the path behind the church, taking us to the open uplands, a Roman road, and glimpses of temperate rain forest. We then head down to the Ugly House (cafe) then on to Swallow Falls and back to Betws-y-Coed.

Option to stay over locally on Saturday night, perhaps in Llandudno (Travelodge, Premier Inn, AirB&B) or camping, e.g. Cwmlanerch (near Betws-y-Coed) or Y Giler Arms, or pub Bunkhouse (e.g. Eagles Inn, Penmachno). There’s the option of food/drink at Y Stablau bar (Royal Oak Hotel) after the walk.

Distance: Around 10 Miles
Early Arrivals: there are cafes, toilets and shops by the train station
Parking: The long stay (Cae Llan) P&D car park is £6, for which drive past the station and tourist information centre. W3W: landlady.packages.staring
Bring: Waterproofs & Refreshments & Good walking footwear, and clothing to match the weather.

A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.
